Why A Men’s Group?
It all begins with an idea. IN the case of men with ADHD we often have ideas at random moment, and our impulsivity can have us trying things that seem as if they may be a bit mad.
However, when Marc Almodovar was walking through a park, an idea came to him. A group on Facebook for Men with ADHD. Why? It’s a combination of things really. Many groups on Facebook that are male/masculine dominant seem to have a reputation for being cesspools of toxicity and misogyny. The truth is, most are fairly healthy when moderated well.
But where are the groups for men who are struggling with mental health? Specifically, what about ADHD and neurodivergence?
From these questions, came the hyperfocus, a hyperfocus who has now become a force to be reckoned with in the neurodivergent world. The Men’s ADHD Support Group spans all social media, from our flagship Facebook Group, to Instagram, Twitter, Linked, and recently developed Tiktok, Youtube, Mastodon, and even Post.
The objectives of our organization are simple, but far-reaching.
We want to:
Provide effective virtual and in-person inspiration, education, and empowerment for men who have been diagnosed with ADHD, or suspect that they have ADHD.
Continuously grow our online presence and provide creative content that inspires, educates and empowers men with ADHD. While at the same time, encouraging healthy habits of emotional expression, an appreciation of mental and physical health, and a mindset of abundance.
Build in-person chapters that meet on a regular basis that will have access to amazing resources for conferences, workshops, and group coaching.
Become a major voice in the mental health community to raise awareness about the need to change the narrative about what it means to be a man who lives with ADHD or mental health related issues.
Work with organizations for cross-promotional conferences, both virtual and in-person to spread objective awareness and grow our brand.
Work with organizations and individual donors to secure sponsorships and donations to allow us to cover all business related costs and be able to report our finances in transparent and ethical manners as required by law.
To that end, we have brought together a diverse leadership team, and have built a solid team of men with ADHD who strive to create examples of healthy masculinity for the thousands of those who follow us on Social Media.
Thank you for joining us on this journey to Inspire, Educate, and Empower the world.
