Many people are out there talking about making resolutions for 2023. You may have already started on them. People with ADHD often deal with Imposter Syndrome. We often feel like frauds, always afraid that we will not measure up to the expectations that others, and even ourselves, hope to achieve. While this list isn’t exhaustive, it is a good starting point for people to see patterns in their lives and how to move forward in overcoming these issues.
Facing Imposter Syndrome With Community
The negative environment that many grew up in, and may still live in, is the root of many of our issues with Imposter Syndrome. We have to learn to create an environment of positivity in our lives to replace the negativity that we lived with. That means learning to ask for help, building a support system, redefining our expectations of success, developing a system that works for us, forgiving our mistakes and learning from our failures, and setting boundaries for ourselves and others.
